,,Elissa Marele is thrilled to be a part of the Fine Arts Faculty at The Galloway School. She has been a drama teacher for sixteen years and has loved every minute of it! She received a BA in Theatre Education from The University of South Florida and an MS in Interdisciplinary Arts from Nova Southeastern University. Ms. Marele has directed over 50 full length and one act musicals and plays in Georgia and in Florida. The Complete Works of Shakespeare (abridged), which she co-directed here at Galloway, was chosen to perform at the 2017 Georgia Thespian Conference as well as awarded Runner Up at the 2016 One Act Play Competition. Also through the GHSA One Act Play Competition, her 2013 production of Into the Woods was named the Region Champion and her One Act productions of The Addams Family and Assassins were both named Runner Up at the 2014 & 2015 Region Competitions. While teaching in Florida, Mrs. Marele is proud to have brought 5 one acts to the Florida State Thespian Festival. Ms. Marele is currently a Resident Director with The Callback Company and was an adjudicator at the 2013 Florida State Thespian Festival. She served as Chairperson of the South Florida Cappies Program from 2005—2007. Her students have been nominated for and won numerous awards including Critic's Choice, South Florida Cappie Awards, Shuler Hensley Awards and Scholarships. Ms. Marele is proud to say she has students studying and working in theatre in New York, Chicago, Washington, North Carolina, Florida, & Georgia.
